NFL RedZone experiences major technical issues at start of Week 14 slate
The Week 14 NFL Sunday slate is underway, and it’s been a rough start for “NFL RedZone.” The popular show is known for showing action and every score from every game around the league.
But during most of the first quarter of Sunday’s games, the audio was missing. Well, there was audio, just not from the broadcasts. Instead, it was straight static across the board.
The technical difficulties lasted for nearly 10 minutes. Yep, 10 minutes of nothing but static. NFL fans were not happy.
“Glad all the money they made from selling out and having 16 commercials a week is going to quality control,” one fan wrote on X.

NFL RedZone looks different this season
RedZone is always a fan favorite though this season, one notable change has left fans frustrated. For the first time, “seven hours of commercial-free football” is no longer a thing. Before the season, ESPN agreed to acquire NFL Network and properties such as RedZone. It was then reported that about 1-2 minutes of commercials would be introduced into RedZone.
But this past week, fans noticed more commercials. In total, 17 advertisements ran throughout the seven-hour window. That added up to over five minutes of commercials and advertising. Some fans see a correlation here.
“Just saying that NFL Redzone never had problems like this before they started shoving Ads down our face,” one fan wrote on X.
Fortunately, the audio issues have been fixed. Hopefully it’s smooth sailing from here on out.
