Notre Dame vs. Navy odds: Early point spread released for Rip Miller Trophy game, How to Watch

Notre Dame and Navy will prepare to renew their rivalry next week on a neutral field at MetLife Stadium. The Battle for the Rip Miller Trophy presents an interesting matchup this year, and the early point spread has been released.
The Fighting Irish opened as 11.5-point favorites against the Midshipmen, according to FanDuel. The over/under also opened at 41.5 for the rivalry matchup.
Navy has become one of the stories of college football this year, off to its best start since World War II and moving into the AP Top 25 for Week 8. The Midshipmen rolled to a 6-0 record out of the gate, leading some to wonder if they could take on rival Army in back-to-back weeks now that they’re both in the American Athletic Conference.
As for Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish are still fighting for their College Football Playoff lives. Marcus Freeman’s group responded well after a loss to Northern Illinois, but Navy presents another challenge to keep rising up the rankings.
Notre Dame and Navy will kick off Oct. 26 at Noon ET from MetLife Stadium. Here’s how to watch the Battle for the Rip Miller Trophy.

Notre Dame’s defense has been dealt some tough injury blows, though. Heading into Week 8, another big one came down when cornerback Benjamin Morrison underwent hip surgery and would miss the rest of the season. He is one of the leaders of the unit, sitting tied for second on the team with four passes defended to go with 20 tackles at the time of his injury.
Freeman addressed the impact his absence had, but also noted the impact Morrison can have once he’s back around the team. For now, though, he has to focus on his recovery.
“Right now, he’s obviously recovering from surgery,” Freeman said. “When he gets back — he’s eager to get back here. Once he’s able to get back around our guys, his leadership skills will continue to show. Right now, he’s just taking care of his body and recovering from surgery. We wish him all the best, and he’ll be back before we know it.”
