Notre Dame and Purdue are set to meet in a non-conference matchup with both coming off tough losses in Week 3. Ahead of Week 4’s matchup, the early point spread and more have been revealed.

All odds are courtesy of BetMGM. The Fighting Irish have opened as a 27.5-point favorite over the Boilermakers. The over/under is set at 52.5 points.

These programs met last season, marking the first meeting between the two programs in three years. No. 18 Notre Dame rolled Purdue 66-7.

Notre Dame is coming off an absolutely heartbreaking loss to Texas A&M. The Fighting Irish scored to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, but a botched extra point attempt left the door cracked at 40-34.

That was all the Aggies needed to deliver the dagger to the Fighting Irish. It went all the way to fourth down in the red zone before Texas A&M converted, though.

That’s when quarterback Marcel Reed escaped pressure to throw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Nate Boerkircher with 13 seconds left on the clock. Randy Bond nailed the extra point to seal the 41-40 win.

That comes two weeks after Notre Dame dropped an equally heartbreaking game to Miami in the season opener. So, naturally, finishing will be top of the agenda for the Fighting Irish this week.

On the flip side, Purdue has been led by quarterback Ryan Browne. He has thrown for 481 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Boilermakers get out to a 2-1 start to the season.

Things were competitive for a while against a USC team that remains unbeaten, but ultimately the Trojans pulled away for a 33-17 win. Now it’s on to the Notre Dame game.
