Quinshon Judkins injury update: Browns RB had 'successful' surgery on fibula and ankle
The Cleveland Browns shared an update on running back Quinshon Judkins, who suffered multiple injuries in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The team announced that Judkins had “successful” surgery on his fractured fibula and dislocated ankle on Tuesday. He has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season.
Quinshon Judkins suffered the injuries in the second quarter when he was tackled after catching a screen pass. His lower right leg was twisted in the wrong direction, and he left the field on a cart.
“Obviously, very disappointed for the young man, he will bounce back,” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game. “I have zero doubt about that with him. But you never want to see that with any of your guys. He’ll be back in no time, I know that.”
Judkins finished the game with 22 rushing yards on eight carries, and he also caught five passes for 29 yards. He finished the 2025 season with 827 rushing yards on 230 carries and seven touchdowns.

Quinshon Judkins details his running style
The Browns selected Judkins in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft. Judkins entered the NFL after recording 1,060 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns for Ohio State in 2024.
In the summer, Judkins spoke to Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal about his running style. “I’ve always played this game since a younger age, and I’ve always had that edge to me to where I love the competition,” he said. “I love the fire and the butterflies that you get before you rise to the moment. That’s something that I truly, I embrace. I’d say for myself, I’ve always been that way. As I’ve gotten older and I’ve gotten better, I’ve worked each and every day to change it and better my game.”
Judkins has been one of the few bright spots for the Browns this year. The team currently has a 3-12 record and will miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Since 2000, the Browns have reached the playoffs just three times, and their last division title came in 1989.
