Report: Former Titans WR Treylon Burks expected to sign with Washington Commanders

Former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks is getting ready to join the Washington Commanders. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Commanders are signing Burks to their practice squad, and it’s expected that he will be elevated to the active roster quickly.
The Titans waived Treylon Burks on Oct. 7. He has not seen any in-game action this year after suffering a fractured collarbone during training camp. Burks is no stranger to injuries, as he played in just five games last year due to a torn ACL.
Tennessee selected Burks in the first round (No. 18 overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, the former Arkansas Razorbacks star caught 33 passes for 444 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. In 2023, Burjs played in 11 games and notched 16 receptions for 221 yards.
In June, Burks discussed recovering from his ACL injury. “I never questioned God, like, ‘Why me?” Burks said, per the Titans’ official website. “But it did put the mindset in my head, on if I still love the game, because it comes with a lot. And, just from going out every day, seeing what the guys are going through, watching it from home, it made me miss it more, and (now I want) to honor it.

Treylon Burks is ready to ‘prove myself right’
“Every day that I am here at this facility, and every day that I am working, I don’t take it for granted. It means a lot more to me now. I’m not saying it didn’t mean a lot before, but it definitely means more now.”
Burks went on to say that he’s focused on for the 2025 season. “I am not going out to prove nobody wrong, I am going out to prove myself right,” he said. “I tore my ACL (last October) and I am running. I am running routes, doing everything within those seven months, and it’s like, “Wow.” And it’s nobody but God who made it happen. That’s who I play for and that’s who I lean on.”
Burks was a standout receiver during his time at Arkansas. In 2021, Burks was selected to the All-SEC First Team after catching 66 passes for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games.
