Terrion Arnold injury update: Lions gives unfortunate news on CB

Terrion Arnold made his debut in his second season as a pro this afternoon at Lambeau Field. However, his appearance is now over already in the second half with an injury to his groin.
The Detroit Lions provided an update on Arnold in the midst of their opening divisional matchup today against the Green Bay Packers. It was one that downgraded the second-year corner to out for the remainder of Sunday’s game in the NFC North.
“#Lions Injury Update: CB Terrion Arnold (Groin) has been downgraded to Out,” posted the Lions.
Arnold has been the leading defender statistically this afternoon for the Lions. That’s with six tackles, three of those being solo, and a pass deflection against the Packers. That, though, hasn’t been enough for Detroit with Green Bay having scored 17 in what’s a double-digit lead right now in the matchup as they come into the fourth quarter.
Arnold is in his second season in the National Football League. He was one of the leaders in production for Detroit on that side of the ball last season as a rookie with 60 tackles, 10 deflections, and one fumble recovery from their secondary.

Detroit has a big deficit they’re currently facing in Green Bay. But, if they’re to overcome it, the Lions will have to do it without Arnold in the lineup to finish the game.
Arnold changing jersey number to honor late teammate in Khyree Jackson
Terrion Arnold changed his jersey number to six to honor Khyree Jackson, his former teammate at Alabama. While appearing on ‘New Wave Pod’ this offseason, Arnold explained why he’s honoring Jackson, who died back in July.
“I wore six in high school, too,” Arnold said. “We all know what happened to our friend Khyree, and I just feel like being able to honor his legacy and the impact that he even had on me. The guy was a competitor, ultimate competitor. It’s that extra motivation.”
“When you look down, and you say, ‘Dang man. I got on that six.’ My brother living through me at the same time. Just how they have those same things where they say football is bigger than you. Just looking at it like talking to his little brother, he could go look on the screen and look in the camera and say, ‘He’s wearing No. 6 because of my big brother.’ That’s amazing. Then just being able to talk to his family, talk to his dad or his mom and just letting them know at the end of the day, Terrion ain’t forgot about Khyree.”
