TreVeyon Henderson injury update: Patriots RB heads to the locker room vs. Ravens
Star New England rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson was injured during the first half of a Sunday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens. He was shaken up after being tackled.
Henderson was spun around by a defender. As he spun around, he landed on his back and hit his head hard on the turf.
Immediately, TreVeyon Henderson came up gimpy. He was tended to on the field by athletic trainers and was then walked over to the team’s injury tent on the sideline. After a few minutes, he was taken to the team’s locker room, according to a report by The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec.
The Patriots ruled him questionable to return with a head injury a few minutes later. Following the halftime break, New England officially ruled Henderson out for the game.
At the time of his injury, Henderson had logged five carries for just three yards. He had also caught one pass for nine yards.
But he’s been a major contributor for New England all season. TreVeyon Henderson leads the team in rushing, more than doubling the next closest rusher on the team. He has gone for 773 yards and six scores on the ground.
In addition, Henderson serves as an occasional threat out of the backfield as a pass-catcher. He has 34 catches for 212 yards and a score this season.
