After the Dallas Cowboys selected him in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Tyler Booker didn’t hide his excitement. The emotions were on full display as he left the green room to hug commissioner Roger Goodell.

As he headed to the stage, Booker found one of his Alabama teammates. He celebrated with Jalen Milroe, giving his former quarterback a big hug on his way out.

The Cowboys selected Booker as the No. 12 overall pick in the draft. He will now face the tall task of replacing Zack Martin, the stalwart guard who recently announced his retirement. It’s safe to say, he’s up to the task.

Booker is set to sign a four-year contract worth $22.5 million, according to Spotrac. As part of his standard rookie deal, he will also have a fifth-year option.

In his three seasons at Alabama, Booker made 37 appearances and 27 starts. He played and started in all 13 of Alabama’s games this season. Booker finished the year with a team-high 87 knockdown blocks (7.3 per game) across 653 snaps of play.

The 6-foot-5, 325-pound standout was a permanent team captain for the Crimson Tide this season. For his excellent play, he was named a First-Team All-SEC selection and a first team All-American by both CBS Sports and USA Today.

“It has been an honor to be a captain and a graduate at The University of Alabama. Although I will be moving on to my next step in life, a piece of me will always be in Tuscaloosa,” he said after announcing his NFL Draft declaration. “Roll Tide Roll.”

Additionally, Booker was recognized as the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week three times this season (MissouriLSU and Auburn). Tyler Booker gave no shortage of thanks in his statement announcing his decision to enter the draft.

Booker played high school football at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 30 overall player from the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
