For nearly 30 years, Rivals has built its reputation by identifying, evaluating and ranking the best athletes in America. Rivals Recruits extends that same trusted scouting process, led by the same scouts who evaluate and rank the nation’s blue-chip prospects, to a much larger universe of athletes.

Our mission is to expand the recruiting radar, giving more athletes the opportunity to be professionally evaluated, recognized and discovered while giving college programs a deeper view of talent across every level of the game.

Every athlete is evaluated against the same standards. Rankings and ratings are earned, never purchased. What Rivals Recruits provides is the opportunity to be seen and evaluated.

Why Rivals Recruits exists

Football illustrates the size of the opportunity today, and the same principle can extend across basketball and other sports.

• 1.04 million boys participated in high school football during the 2025 season.
• At any one time, Rivals historically has approximately 6,600 star-rated football prospects across the senior, junior and sophomore classes.
• That means only about 0.6% of high school football players receive a traditional Rivals star rating.
• The traditional star-rating universe has been primarily built around FBS-caliber prospects. Rivals Recruits expands the evaluation lens deeper into FCS, Division II, NAIA and Division III talent.
• There is far more talent worth evaluating than Rivals has historically had the capacity to evaluate. Rivals Recruits creates a scalable way to identify more of those athletes without lowering the standards that have defined Rivals for nearly three decades.
