Cam Williams Scouting Summary
Charles Power
05/20/23

Athletic receiver who creates big plays in a variety of ways. Has good size, measuring around 6-foot-1, 185 pounds as a junior. Owns plus length at the position, with arms over 33 inches. Has clocked 40-yard dash times in the 4.4’s at college camps. An easy, twitchy mover who shows the ability to separate vertically and take the top off of opposing defenses. Shows the ability to change gears on vertical routes. Also proves to be dangerous after the catch. Runs with tempo and pace as a ball-carrier. Looks to be a strong YAC receiver with the ability to maximize yardage with the ball in his hands. Turned in a productive junior season with 882 yards and 13 touchdowns on 44 catches. Has a very strong multi-sport background as a standout in basketball and track. Shows some above-the-rim bounce on the hardwood. A very strong athlete in track, running a 10.86 second 100 meter mark as a junior and posting a 6-foot-5 high jump as a sophomore. Can continue refining some of the technical aspects of his game like route-running and consistently high-pointing the football, though he has shown some flashes with the latter. Looks to have high physical upside as a multi-dimensional receiver pending further skill development.

Personal Life

Cam Williams is described as “the complete package” by his Glenbard South High School coach Ryan Crissey. “There isn’t much he can’t do on the football field,” Crissey told Sports Illustrated. “His ceiling is so ridiculously high. That’s just it, Cam is really a true football player. From a receiving perspective, he’s an explosive athlete, has good hand skills, his body control is unreal and the tempo he uses as a route runner is just unmatched.” Through his sophomore and junior seasons Glenbard South, Williams racked up 920 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns. Most of those numbers came in his junior season when he exploded for 13 scoring grabs and an average of 20 yards a catch. Williams also averaged 8.5 yards a carry in 2022. “He’s an incredible natural athlete,” his coach said.
