Senior guard and natural mauler with three seasons as a starter and reps on both sides of center. He has great size for the position at 6-foot-2, and while he self-reported 310 pounds, his coach says he is closer to 290. He has adequate mass and strength to play at the next level. Though he has that size, he is not overly long in his frame. He does not appear to have great reach or noticeably long arms, but he is a natural fit at guard. A meniscus injury in his junior year made him look more lumbering than he…

Top Attributes

- Vice grip / disallows disengagement - Second effort - Strength - Block finisher

Areas to Develop

- Initial punch - Footwork - Pad level as fatigue sets in - Lateral quickness

Film Review Notes

A senior guard with experience on both sides of center with three seasons of starting experience. He has good hand placement firing out of his stance against head-up defenders. He's very skilled at finishing blocks despite a lack of heavy hands and a strong punch. He's also keen on not letting defenders disengage in either facet, with good grip and hands. In the run game, he has a good understanding of blocking outside zone and knows how to ward off defenders. He shows a good habit of staying square when pulling. Still, he can stop his feet when working at the point of attack. In the pass game he shows nice eyes and instincts. He's a little front loaded, but he displays good eyes, hands, and balance absorbing rushers. He has good leverage but needs to display more consistent strength against second and third efforts.
