By the time David Sanders entered his junior season of high school football, he racked up more than 100 scholarship offers. With all the attention that comes with being a top target, it would be easy to lose focus. Yet, Sanders said his parents keep him grounded. “My parents keep me very humble,” Sanders told the Charlotte Observer. “We try to keep sports talk out of the house because I’ve got three younger sisters, and they don’t to hear about football every two seconds.” Sanders originally arrived at Providence Day School with dreams of playing basketball in college instead of football. But it didn't take him long to figure out the gridiron is his future. “It takes about 15 seconds to watch him do anything, and you go, ‘He’s different,’” Providence Day coach Chad Grier told the Observer. “But what makes him special is how grounded and humble and respectful he is. He’s just a great human. He’s got that million-dollar smile, and he was raised by great parents. He wants to be an orthopedic surgeon. He’s almost too good to be true, and I’ve never been around one like him. I almost don’t want to say it. But I thought he had a chance to be the best prospect I’ve coached, and there’s no question about that now. It’s just about how good can he be?”

David Sanders' frame and explosive athleticism remind us of Terron Armstead. Sandersis a much, much more heralded high school recruit, as Armstead landed in the FCS after a late growth spurt. Both are twitchy left tackles with backgrounds as excellent track and field throwers.

Twitchy, explosive jumbo athlete who has been one of the top offensive tackles for the entirety of the 2025 cycle. A two-way star for Providence Chrisitian in Charlotte as an offensive tackle and defensive lineman. Has a tall, lean frame, measuring in at 6-foot-5 ¾, 276 pounds with 33.5-inch arms and 9.5-inch hands at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. Added over 25 pounds as a junior. Registers as a top athlete in the combine setting. Transfers that athleticism over to the field. An electric mover with considerable twitch. Explodes to the second level and moves effortlessly in space. Played much stronger than his lighter weight would suggest as a junior. Has developed upper body and core strength to plant defenders into the ground. Flashes some dominant tendencies as a drive blocker and finisher when engaged. Runs his feet on contact. Relatively advanced technically. Held his own against blue-chip prospects as a junior. Also shows off his athleticism as a defensive lineman. Would be an easy Power 4 prospect on that side of the ball. Displays his functional strength in track and field, where he’s a standout in the shot put, breaking the school record with a 53-3.5 feet throw as a sophomore. Will need to continue adding mass and show he can maintain his top shelf athleticism and hold the weight well within his leaner, streamline frame. Length is solid, but not elite for the position. Physicality didn't show up as much on film as a senior than it did as a junior. Older for the class, turning 18 years-old as a junior. Should he be able to hold weight and maintain his athleticism, projects as a top left tackle prospect with early round upside due to his elite movement skills.
