Malakay Drayton

My name is Malakay Drayton, and I’m a sophomore at Copperas Cove High School. I wear #4 and play quarterback for the JV football team. I love everything about football: learning the plays, competing with my teammates, and getting another chance to improve every time I step on the field. Playing quarterback has taught me to stay calm, take responsibility, and encourage the guys around me, especially when a game gets tough. My dad, Steven Drayton, serves in the Army, and my mom is Swantje Drayton is a AP for KISD. They’ve always supported me and taught me to work hard and keep going when things don’t come easily. Outside of football, I like spending time with my family and enjoying good food. My goal is to keep growing as a player and a person while helping my team win.
