2026 EDGE Chris Carbin commits to Florida State

Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove three-star EDGE Chris Carbin has committed to Florida State, he tells Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Carbin chose the Seminoles after decommitting from Georgia Tech last month. He also considered Auburn this fall.
He is the No. 747 overall prospect and No. 82 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 84 recruit in the Peach State.
Carbin began trending toward Tallahassee this fall and the Seminoles pounced once he officially came back on the board. He visited FSU in October and now gives head coach Mike Norvell and Co. their 26th commitment this cycle.
“It’s a program built on tradition,” Carbin said of FSU when speaking with Fawcett last month. “Coach Norvell has a great thing going on, and is building a legacy of greatness. I have definitely considered becoming a Seminole and part of a brotherhood that knows what it takes to win.”
Carbin is gearing up for his final postseason push at Hillgrove. The Hawks put together an 8-2 regular season and rank as the No. 36 team in Georgia, per the Massey Ratings.
FSU adds piece to 2026 class
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future of the ACC program, Florida State is working to ink another impressive recruiting class this winter. As of Nov. 2, the Seminoles have the No. 14 class in the nation, per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Carbin is the lone EDGE prospect in the FSU class, though he’s the latest to join the fold after decommitting from another program.
Leesburg (Fla.) Tavares four-star linebacker Izayia WIlliams has committed to four other schools but he’s still in the fold for FSU right now. He’s Rivals’ top-ranked linebacker. Pittsburgh Pine-Richland four-star cornerback Jay Timmons flipped from Indiana and is now Rivals’ No. 2 corner. Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County four-star wide receiver Devin Carter flipped from Auburn, while Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star tight end Xavier Tiller is a former Texas A&M pledge. Mustang (Okla.) four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal flipped from Oklahoma this summer, too.
That’s just the top of the iceberg. FSU has also hung onto myriad long-term commitments. Miami Barbara Goleman four-star safety Darryl Bell, Homestead (Fla.) Northwestern four-star safety Tedarius Hughes and Tampa Plant four-star athlete Darryon Williams have all been pledged for over a year.
The class also ranks No. 2 in the ACC, behind only Miami. The entire pledge list can be seen here.
