2026 OL Hugh Smith commits to Arkansas Razorbacks
Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point three-star offensive lineman Hugh Smith is going to be a Razorback.
On Wednesday, Smith announced his commitment to Arkansas, choosing the SEC school over reported offers from Houston, Rice, Ole Miss, Arizona State and a host of others.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with the talent, strength, and opportunity to pursue my dream of playing D1 football at the University of Arkansas,” he wrote on X announce his commitment. “To my parents: thank you for your unconditional love, sacrifice, and constant support through every step of this journey. To my coaches and trainers: your guidance, dedication, and belief in me helped shape me into the athlete I am today. This dream became a reality because of all of you. I’m truly grateful. This is just the beginning. Go Hogs!”
The 6-foot-5, 295-pounder is the No. 952 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 89 interior offensive lineman and No. 134 recruit in the state of Texas.

Smith is the 15th commitment this cycle for Sam Pittman and Co., joining a class that ranks No. 25 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
The Razorbacks have a trio of blue-chippers already committed, with four-star wideout Dequane Prevo, four-star EDGE Colton Yarbrough and four-star tight end Jaivion Martin headlining the class. Of the 15 commitments only two hail from inside the state’s borders.
Instead, Arkansas has looked outside at talent-rich states like Texas, where five of their commits hail from. That includes wide receiver Robert Haynes, a high school teammate of Smith’s at Ridge Point.
