Tayshon Bardo has backed off his commitment to Wisconsin.

The three-star wide receiver from Mishawaka (Ind.) Penn tells me that he is no longer committed to Wisconsin. This news comes on the heels of the Badgers bad loss to Iowa over the weekend 37-0 at home. Bardo told me why he made the decision.

“I just don’t want to miss out on any other possible life changing opportunities for me and my family,” Bardo said.

Bardo has been productive so far this season. In his first three games he’s posted 11 catches for 275 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. He committed to the Badgers back on March 11, 2025. The Indiana native was excited about the challenge for the Badgers coming into the season as he told me in August

“I think this year’s team is going to surprise a lot of people,” three-star wide receiver commit Tayshon Bardo said. “All the guys are hungry and have a chip on their shoulder and Coach Fick is and will be the “guy” this year.”

But things have gone south for Wisconsin and Fickell in a hurry. The team is currently 2-4 (0-3) and dead last in the Big Ten. Fans are getting restless and it’s going to have an impact on a recruiting class that has some pieces in it.

Bardo will take an official visit to fellow Big Ten school Michigan State on Nov. 15 with it takes on Penn State.

Wisconsin 2026 recruiting class after Bardo

Wisconsin’s class currently sits outside the top 40 in the Rivals Team Recruiting Rankings. After losing Bardo, the team has just one wide receiver commitment left in the class. That wideout is Florida native Jayden Petit who is also Wisconsin’s highest-rated commitment in the class.

The Badgers are also battling Ohio State and others to hang onto prized running back commitment Amari Lattimer.
