4-star ATH Neeo Avery announces commitment date

Glen Burnie (Md.) Good Counsel four-star athlete Neeo Avery will be announcing his commitment on July 31. He announced the news over social media.

Avery is the No. 253 overall prospect and the No. 10 athlete in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The former Penn State commit is also the No. 6 player in Maryland.

Avery announced a top four of Kentucky, Maryland, Ole Miss and Oregon on July 6. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Rebels have the best chance to land Avery’s pledge at 15.6%. He has visited Ole Miss three times unofficially, with his most recent unofficial visit coming today. The 6-foot-4.5, 225 pound prospect also took official visits to Maryland and Kentucky on June 3 and June 17, respectively.

The RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Avery has an On3 NIL Valuation of $17.4K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
