Owasso (Okla.) four-star defensive lineman Tajh Overton has committed to Missouri.

He chose the Tigers after decommitting from Oklahoma State on Oct. 12. Overton visited Columbia this fall and is now in the mix for the SEC program. He decommitted from OSU after it fired longtime head coach Mike Gundy earlier this fall.

Overton is the No. 271 overall prospect and No. 30 DL in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-2.5, 275-pounder now joins a recruiting class that’s been red-hot this fall. He’s one of many recruits that have found their way to Mizzou after decommitting from another program. The Tigers have vaulted inside the top 25 of the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings after spending much of the cycle at the very bottom of the SEC.

Mizzou stays scorching hot this fall

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff in Columbia have been hotter than anyone else on the recruiting trail as of late. The Tigers did not come away with very many commitments in the spring or summer, but now have 19 commits and a class that ranks No. 24 nationally.

Overton is one of four blue-chippers now in the class. Bradenton (Fla.) Venice four-star offensive tackle Johnnie Jones is now at the top of the class after committing on Oct. 11. He decommitted from UCLA after it fired head coach DeShaun Foster last month.

On Oct. 3, Theodore (Ala.) four-star linebacker JJ Bush committed less than a week after backing off his commitment to Arkansas. Bush, like Jones and Overton, re-opened his process after a head coaching change.

One day after Bush, Mizzou beat Arkansas and others for Bryant (Ark.) four-star running back TJ Hodges, the nation’s No. 20 RB. The last couple of weeks have also seen Mizzou flip Magnolia (Miss.) South Pike Rivals300 EDGE Micah Nickerson from Mississippi State and Jackson (Mo.) three-star interior offensive lineman Brysen Wessell from Iowa State.

Warrington (Pa.) La Salle three-star quarterback Gavin Sidwar was the first to commit to Mizzou this cycle, doing so back in April. He’s remained sturdy with the program and is now the No. 33 QB in the nation.

Other top commits in the class include: Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Monarch three-star wide receiver Jabari Brady, Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb three-star IOL Brandon Anderson, St. Louis University three-star linebacker Keenan Harris, Detroit Cass Tech three-star IOL Khalief Canty Jr. and Boonville (Mo.) three-star IOL Braylon Ellison.
