Hayward (Calif.) Tennyson four-star wide receiver <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/taeshaun-lyons-148029/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Taeshaun Lyons</a> will make his college commitment on December 16, he announced on Tuesday. 



He is down to a top four of <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/miami-hurricanes/">Miami</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/notre-dame-fighting-irish/">Notre Dame</a>, <a href="https://www.on3.com/teams/oregon-ducks/">Oregon</a> and <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/washington-huskies/">Washington</a>, but also recently received an offer from Colorado and head coach Deion Sanders.

Lyons is the No. 240 overall prospect and No. 32 wide receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/consensus-player/football/2023/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">On3 Consensus</a>, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 17 player in California. 



On3 rates Lyons higher than other recruiting services, according to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/taeshaun-lyons-148029/industry-comparison/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Industry Comparison</a>. Per the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/player/football/2023/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">2023 On300</a>, he is the No. 124 overall prospect, No. 19 wide receiver and No. 9 player in California.



According to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/taeshaun-lyons-148029/recruiting/158031/rpm/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine</a>, the Fighting Irish have a commanding lead for his commitment at 95.2%. Lyons, however, visited the Hurricanes and Huskies in November and could still take a visit to Colorado before his decision.

“Wiry wideout with super smooth movement patterns and big-play ability. Has a thin frame, measuring at over 6-foot-2 and around 160 pounds prior to his senior season. Registers as a good athlete, running an 11.03 second 100 meter time in addition to a 4.64 electronically-timed 40-yard dash as a junior. Dominates average to subpar competition on Friday nights. Accounted for 955 yards and 16 touchdowns on just 31 catches as a junior. 



“A threat to score every time he touches the ball at the high school level. A naturally smooth mover and has advanced routes and on-field change of direction at this stage. Shows the ability to separate within his routes in the camp setting. Ball skills are not a question, but can struggle with finishing through contact due to his relative lack of strength. Will need to continue adding mass at the college level.”
