Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan has been committed to Alabama since July 2. He remains pledged to the in-state program, but is getting a look at a former contender this weekend.

Morgan is back in Boulder for a surprise game visit to Colorado. He posted a photo alongside CU head coach Deion Sanders on Saturday evening ahead of CU’s game against Wyoming:

The Buffs emerged in Morgan’s recruitment late, but they were his first official visit back in May. There’s been zero buzz surrounding the pass-catcher’s recruitment since he pledged to the Crimson Tide, but the trip out West is a new development.

“I had a great time,” Morgan told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong after logging his OV to Boulder. “They got a great shot. That was my first time being there. I really enjoyed it.”

“Just getting in there knowing I can play early and build my brand and being up under Coach Prime and the other coaches on the staff,” he added. “That could be an easy path for me to get to the NFL.”

Morgan also considered Florida, Auburn and Georgia, but Alabama seized the momentum in his process and landed his commitment on July 2. He’s currently one of four five-star recruits committed to the Tide this cycle.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder is the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 3 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Alabama.

Colorado is still without a wide receiver in its slim 2026 class that currently features just 11 commits. The Buffs’ class currently ranks No. 68 nationally, per the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Alabama checks in at No. 7.

Cederian Morgan Scouting Summary

Rivals’ Scouting and Rankings team writes this of Morgan as a prospect:

“One of the freakier jumbo athletes at wide receiver in the 2026 cycle. Has a large, well-built frame, standing at around 6-foot-3.5 and weighing 220 pounds. Has elite length with arms that measure over 34 inches. Has the body of an NFL player as a high school prospect. Tests as a very good athlete in the combine setting and runs well at his size on the track with an 11.19-second time in the 100 meters. Uses his big body, long arms, and coordination to impose his will on defenders at the high school level. Plays like a bully in contested catch situations and shows the ability to high-point and track the football. Dangerous when he can box out defensive backs. Shows good ability after the catch, especially when he has a runway to get to top speed.

…Finished his junior season with 70 catches for 1,162 yards and 14 touchdowns. Standout multi-sport athlete who rocks the rim with powerful dunks on the basketball court. A state silver medalist in the high jump with a leap of 6-8 feet. Can continue improving his quickness and initial burst to better separate within his routes. Did much of his damage as a junior working as a big slot wide receiver, taking advantage of free releases. Has considerable upside given his physical gifts and coordination.”
