Alabama flips 2026 EDGE Corey Howard from Georgia
After taking an official visit to Alabama this weekend, Valdosta (Ga.) three-star EDGE Corey Howard has flipped his commitment from Georgia to the Crimson Tide, he tells Rivals.
Howard has been pursued heavily by the staff in Tuscaloosa this fall and now joins a class that’s pushing for top-five status in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He previously visited this fall before locking in the OV this weekend — which sealed the deal for the Tide.
“Just the environment and the plan for me is just amazing for me and my family,” Howard told Rivals about the program. “Bama is building a new identity with a new coach, I would love to be a part of.”
Howard is the No. 700 overall prospect and No. 74 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He becomes commitment No. 23 for head coach Kalen DeBoer this cycle.

“I’m coming from one of the best teams in high school football I think,” Howard said. “We have a very deep and rich winning tradition so I want that to carry over to college.”
Georgia originally beat Florida for Howard’s commitment this summer. Alabama jumped in with an offer this fall and has proceeded to push for the 6-foot-6, 260-pounder from there. He becomes the second EDGE in the Tide’s class, flanking four-star Jamarion Matthews.
Alabama beat Tennessee on Saturday and top prospects flocked to T-Town. Rivals has the latest recruiting buzz from the big weekend here. Alabama’s updated 2026 recruiting class can be seen here.
