Arkansas loses commitment from TE Jaivion Martin

Arkansas won a close recruiting battle over several Texas-based programs for touted pass-catching tight end Jaivion Martin.

That commitment was short-lived.

After drawing continued interest from programs in and around the Lone Star State, Martin decommitted from the Razorbacks.

Texas Tech was an early contender for the three-star TE from Willis (Texas) High School. Houston is another in-state program that has come on strong with Martin leading into and since his SEC pledge. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder has racked up around 20 offers throughout his process, but chose Arkansas in May after landing an offer in February. He took a spring visit to Fayetteville and returned for an official visit in June.

Martin has made a string of visits to Houston, especially after transferring to Willis High from Pflugerville (Texas) High this offseason.

Martin is tabbed as the No. 469 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 28 TE in the class and the No. 64 overall player in the state of Texas.

He was the fourth highest-ranked commit in Arkansas’ 2026 class and now brings the class down to 24 total commits.
