Elite OT Jackson Lloyd sets commitment date

One of the top offensive tackles in the 2025 cycle is set to come off the board in the next 24 hours.

Carmel (Calif.) four-star OT Jackson Lloyd will reveal his decision on Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET, he announced on Monday via his Instagram story. Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee and USC made his top six earlier this month.

Lloyd ranks No. 29 overall and No. 6 at the tackle spot in the 2025 On300. He’s the No. 106 recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Ohio State had Lloyd in Columbus for an official visit on June 7, while Bama had him back in Tuscaloosa for an OV over the weekend. The Crimson Tide are now trending heavily for his pledge, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

“It was great. It’s always great there,” Lloyd’s father told BamaOnLine after the OV . “Whenever you read anything that people write, they always say Alabama is the standard. I don’t think you can really appreciate that until you go there. It’s one of those things you have to experience first to see what they mean.”

Lloyd a major outlier in the On300 Rankings

As Lloyd nears his decision, he also continues to rise as one of the top tackles in the 2025 class — a class that is superbly deep at the position overall.

Back in February, Lloyd drew tremendous praise from On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power:

“Jackson Lloyd appears to be the top offensive lineman in the West Coast by a good margin. He’s a guy who is a little off the beaten path, from the Monterey Peninsula in Carmel, Calif., not a place that’s highly trafficked by college recruiters. He’s a guy that has the profile of what you look for as a high-upside, projectable offensive lineman. Three-sport athlete, playing baseball and basketball at a high level. Does not play top competition, but has very encouraging film. 6-foot-6, 280 pounds, a reported 7-foot wingspan and is a very light-footed, fluid and coordinated athlete. The film is dominant, as you would hope for, for a top prospect playing that level of competition.

…The multi-sport profile is also really encouraging, he is an extremely-good high school basketball player. The way he carries his weight and moves, I think, is very projectable at the position. There’s no doubt he stacks up in this top group, we came away from watching the junior film, learning about him and gathering information thinking he was the top OL on the West Coast.”
