Four-Star OT Olaus Alinen names finalists, sets commitment date

Four-star offensive tackle Olaus Alinen has narrowed his list to five schools and has set a commitment date.

The 6-foot-6, 320 pounder will announce his college decision on July 22nd, and will choose between Alabama, Miami, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon.

He went in depth on his finalists.

Alabama

“I’ve had a long relationship with Alabama,” Alinen said. “They have always been one of my top schools and Coach Saban and Coach Wolford are super proven. It is the standard of college football!”

Miami

“Coach Mirabel and Coach Cristobal Have been the coaches recruiting me for the longest time,” Alinen said. “They are doing something really special down in Miami. It will be an awesome place to develop as an O-linemen.”

Georgia

“They just won a national championship and they’re always going to be really good,” Alinen said. “The way they work on the field and off the field is something really unique. Me and my family used to live in Georgia so it is a familiar place.”

Ohio State

“It is a blue blood program with great development, culture, and tradition,” Alinen said. “Me and Coach Frye have a really great relationship and I think he is the type of coach that can get me to the next level. I really like the guys in their class.”

Oregon

“Coach Lanning is bringing a great mentality do the program at Oregon and Coach Klemm is one of the best coaches in college football for a lineman,” Alinen said. “The resources and opportunities they have there are really unique and it is a nice place to be.”

Alinen ranks as the No. 125 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 12 offensive tackle and the top player in the state of Connecticut.
