Massive Georgia recruiting class sits on the cusp of another No. 1 ranking

Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class is again among the best in the country, ranking No. 2 nationally in the Rivals Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
After a ‘slow’ start by the program’s historical standards this cycle, Kirby Smart and Co. went on a tear early this summer. June saw them add 15 commitments, and they followed that up with five more in July — all of whom rank in the top-300 nationally — and one more addition early in August.
All told, they have an eye-popping 31 commitments as Smart and his staff are bucking the trending of loading up with transfers and instead focusing on deep high school classes. Even if the ‘Dawgs don’t land another player in this class, they’ll have signed 88 prep players between the 2024-2026 classes. Compare that with a program like Oregon (62) or SEC rival Ole Miss (61).
This class starts at the quarterback positions with Nashville Christian (Tenn.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Jared Curtis. He was one of five commitments in May and is the highest-rated passer to commit to UGA since Matthew Stafford in 2006, a player who Georgia fans would love to see Curtis emulate during his time in Athens. The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder ranks as the No. 5 prospect and No. 2 QB in the class.
Around their centerpiece, they’ve added plenty of offensive firepower with five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro, four-star tight ends Brayden Fogle and Lincoln Keyes, as well as a trio of Rivals300 wideouts in Ryan Mosley, Brady Marchese and Craig Dandridge.
Of the 31 total commits, 17 hail from the Peach State — a big point of emphasis for Smart and his staff. Along with Prothro and the three wideouts, UGA also in-state pledges from safeties Tyriq Green, Kealan Jones and Jordan Smith, offensive linemen Zykie Helton, Graham Houston and Zachary Lewis, running back Jae Lamar, edge rushers Khamari Brooks and Corey Howard, punter Wade Register, and defensive linemen Seven Cloud, Carter Luckie and Anthony Lonon.
It isn’t just the sheer number of pledges, though. Of teams with more than 15 commitments, Georgia is tied for the second-highest percentage of blue-chippers in their class and trails only Oregon in that regard. 2026 is another banner year for Smart and the Bulldogs on the recruiting trail, and don’t be surprised if they pursue some major flip targets down the stretch.
