Georgia lands a commitment from 4-star OL Tyreek Jemison: 'Georgia is like one big family'
Georgia has landed a major in-state commitment with the addition of Tyreek Jemison, a massive four-star offensive lineman out of Dallas (Ga.) Paulding County. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound standout chose the Bulldogs over Kentucky and Ole Miss after Georgia turned up the heat throughout the fall. Following three visits to Athens, Jemison knew he wanted to play for Kirby Smart.
“Getting around the guys, being around the staff, and feeling the love this fall was big for me choosing Georgia,” Jemison told Rivals. “Georgia is the standard in college football. What I see in Georgia is greatness — how they win, how many NFL guys they produce, how hard they play, and how much they help each other. It’s something I want to be part of. I’m not sure how anyone doesn’t want to be part of it. Georgia has a great history and tradition.”
Ranked No. 128 nationally in the Rivals300, Jemison has been on Georgia’s radar since his sophomore year. Mike Bobo identified him early, and Stacy Searels has continued to push for him as a priority target. Jemison visited Athens for games against Ole Miss, Texas, and Charlotte, and those trips made a strong impression.
Jemison said the difference in Athens starts at the top.
“Coach Smart works, the players work, and everyone in the program works together. They compete hard. The staff works hard. Everyone goes to work every day, they bond together, and Georgia is like one big family.”

Georgia’s player development made an impact on Jemison
Although the decision wasn’t easy, the draw of playing at home, combined with Georgia’s track record of development, pushed the Bulldogs over the top.
“Ole Miss and Kentucky are great schools, too, but the pipeline to the NFL and the people at Georgia just make them different for me. I believe in the staff at Georgia. They can maximize my ability. With all the talent there, you have to work, and you can’t get complacent, so I welcome that. You always have to work to play at Georgia, and that’s great for me.”
For Jemison, staying home is meaningful on a personal level too.
“I like Coach Smart a lot, Coach Searels is a great coach, and I’m going to be part of a great program,” he said. “Where I come from, it’s very exciting to be part of Georgia’s program. Smael Mondon came from here, but not many go play major college football from this area. It feels like a dream coming true. Georgia is home, so it’s a great feeling to be a Bulldog.”
