Miami lands commitment from 2026 DL Frederic Sainteus

Miami has received a commitment from Naples (Fla.) St. John Neumann defensive lineman Frederic Sainteus.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Sainteus has visited the Hurricanes for every home game this fall and chooses to play for Mario Cristobal and his staff over opportunities at Florida and Florida State. The likes of Georgia, Michigan State and Ohio State also made latest pushes.

“For me Miami is program who’s gonna go far in terms of success,” Sainteus said. “They have great talent, great coaches, great staff and great fans. The defense is what impressed me the most because that’s how I play keep chasing that ball. Play hard, that’s all me.”

A native of Haiti, Sainteus has only played football for two years. Miami started pushing for this high-upside, point-of-attack prospect after evaluating his senior film. He has the traits to help control the line of scrimmage and the intangibles to fit this program’s culture.

Miami offered at the end of summer and the Hurricanes started trending for Sainteus following the visit for the win over Notre Dame. From Cristobal to the fans, he felt at home.

“They’re fired up about me” Sainteus said. “The staff, the head coach, they all want me very, very bad. A lot of fans knew who I was and they were saying ‘Miami is your home Frederic.’ That means they’re people who really want you.”

Sainteus becomes commit No. 23 for Miami in the class of 2026, adding to a haul the Rivals Industry previously ranked No. 12 nationally. Syracuse, UCF and Virginia were other programs to offer.
