Mississippi State lands a commitment from DL Tico Crittendon
Mississippi State received the last visit from Tico Crittendon, and it helped propel Jeff Lebby to the top spot on his list. It was perfect timing with Signing Day around the corner, and the three-star defensive lineman out of Lithonia (Ga.) has committed to the Bulldogs.
It was his third visit to Starkville, and the third time was the charm.
“The academics, the development and the people are things that were important to me,” Crittendon told Rivals. “Mississippi State is a great place with great coaches. I liked my time at Mississippi State and it is a good environment.”
During his recent stay at Mississippi State, Crittendon was able to spent more time with the staff, particularly with defensive line coach David Turner. He also got up to speed on aspects off the field within the Bulldogs’ program.
“I got to talk to most of the coaches and I was the only defensive lineman on an official visit during the weekend,” Crittendon said when he left his official visit. “So I got to spend a lot of time with Coach Turner. We got to hang out and I got to learn more about Mississippi State with the nutrition and education and all of that.”

Before exiting his visit on Sunday, Crittendon held more conversations with head coach Lebby. Naturally, Crittendon felt like he was wanted by Lebby and felt like a priority.
“Coach Lebby said he needs a guy like me,” remarked Crittendon. “He said when I get there to be prepared to work because nothing is given. He is trying to build the program back up and wants me to help them do that.”
