Nick Shrewsberry, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard in the class of 2026, has committed to play for his father, Micah Shrewsberry, at Notre Dame.

Nick is a three-star senior at St. Joseph High School in South Bend, Indiana. He went in-depth on his commitment to the Fighting Irish.

“I chose Notre Dame because it’s so close to home and I spend a lot of time on campus and at the basketball facilities. Also with my dad being the coach I already have great relationships with all the players and coaches, and I know I will fit in well at Notre Dame. I also already know how they play and know what to expect going into college.”

What does Nick expect the experience of playing for his dad to be like?

“I think playing for my dad will be a really cool experience, being able to look over on the sidelines during a game or at practice and seeing a coach but also seeing a dad will be special. And with the relationship I already have with him I’ll be a lot more comfortable going into college and it will take some pressure off of me knowing that he’s not just my coach but my father too.”

In his own words, what type of player is Notre Dame getting in Nick Shrewsberry?

“I’m a high IQ player, great shooter with infinite range, good athlete, good cutter. I get most of my points off of threes and dunks.”

He has a message

“I’m excited to be Irish and I’m ready to bring championships to South Bend.”

Nick will also play alongisde his brother, Braeden, who averaged 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game last season as a sophomore.

“It’s going to be really fun playing with my brother,” Nick said. “He’s one of my best friends and we’re really close so being on the same team will only bring us closer. Also just being able to compete with and against him every day and seeing how much we both have grown since we last played together will be cool to see.”
