Oklahoma Football Recruiting: Sooners pushing to sign another impressive class

Oklahoma has signed a top-20 recruiting class every cycle since 2004, according to the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. If the 2026 cycle were to end today, the Sooners would be right on that line.
There’s still plenty of time to go, though. Head coach Brent Venables and his staff have been in the thick of things for a slew of elite blue-chippers this summer and will look to pull off a few big flips this fall.
As of Sept. 2, OU has the nation’s No. 20 class — which now features 19 total commits. That includes seven four-stars, two of whom are top-100 overall prospects.
The biggest win of the cycle came last month as Orlando IMG Academy four-star EDGE Jake Kreul chose the Sooners over Texas and Ole Miss. He checks in as the No. 41 overall prospect and No. 8 EDGE in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
“The one thing I like about OU is that Norman has that college town vibes that you get to see in the traditional SEC,” Kreul told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. “You just know game days are going to be crazy with all the fans.”
The Sunshine State star headlines alongside Celina (Texas) four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley, the nation’s No. 6 QB to date. He was one of a whopping nine commits for the Sooners in June.
Of the 19 commits, eight are set to feature on the offensive side of the ball. Ten are on the defensive side, while a top kicker is also in the mix to date. The class currently ranks No. 9 in the SEC, but there remains plenty of room on the pledge list heading into football season.
