On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine projects Justius Lowe's commitment
Portland (Ore.) Lake Oswego wide receiver Justius Lowe decommitted from Utah a little more than 48 hours ago, but he is ready to announce where he is headed instead. Lowe teased a potential commitment announcement tonight at 7:00 p.m. PST.
He pledged to the Utes right before the Early Signing Period in December, but opted not to sign with them. He was offered by USC and Notre Dame late last month, but according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), his destination won’t be either of those schools.
Instead, it’s home-state Oregon that is projected to land the four-star playmaker. The RPM gives the Ducks a 76.8 percent change to land Lowe, the No. 2 player in the Beaver State.
Lowe is the No. 696 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 101 wide receiver.
On3’s own rankings are vastly higher on him, though. He is ranked as the No. 216 prospect and No. 30 wide receiver nationally.
Keeping him home would be good news for an Oregon program in need of some recruiting momentum. The Ducks lost 11 commitments in the month following former head coach Mario Cristobal‘s departure for Miami. That included five-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., four-star receiver Tetairoa McMillan and four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey, among others.
New head coach Dan Lanning has been able to secure a trio of transfer commitments, but adding Justius Lowe would be another significant win for the first-year head coach.
