Detroit <a href="https://www.on3.com/high-school/cass-technical-detroit-mi-6565/">Cass Technical</a> safety <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/marcus-jennings-239919/">Marcus Jennings</a> has committed to <a href="https://www.on3.com/college/pittsburgh-panthers/">Pittsburgh</a>, he announced on Sunday.



The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back chose the Panthers while also holding offers from the likes of Toledo, Eastern Michigan, Marshall and Charlotte.



Currently unranked in the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/industry-player/football/2026/">On3 Industry Ranking</a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Jennings is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports.

He’s the second commitment of the weekend for head coach <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/coach/pat-narduzzi-132255/">Pat Narduzzi</a> and the Pitt staff. On Friday, Sarasota (Fla.) Booker three-star wide receiver <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/dylan-wester-240283/">Dylan Wester</a> announced his pledge. The pair join a class that also features Southlake (Texas) Carroll three-star quarterback <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/angelo-renda-245294/">Angelo Renda</a> and Westerville (Ohio) South safety <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/isaac-patterson-243068/">Isaac Patterson</a>.



Playing for one of the top high school football programs in Michigan, Jennings compiled 120 total tackles as a junior for Cass Tech.

In the 2025 cycle, Pitt signed the nation’s No. 55 class, according to the <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/industry-team/football/2025/">On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings</a>. The class did not feature a blue-chip signee, though the Panthers did do well recruiting the Sunshine State.



Ocoee (Fla.) three-star cornerback <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/joshua-guerrier-175151/">Joshua Guerrier</a> was the top-ranked signee, checking in as the No. 501 recruit and No. 46 CB in the cycle. He was one of a whopping eight prospects out of Florida to sign with Pitt, alongside the likes of Daytona Beach Spruce Creek three-star WR <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/tony-kinsler-176785/">Tony Kinsler</a>, Miami Palmetto three-star WR <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/cameron-sapp-154761/">Cameron Sapp</a> and Tampa Plant three-star tight end <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/max-hunt-158058/">Max Hunt</a>.



Guerrier was also one of four listed defensive backs to sign with the ACC program. Fishers (Ind.) Hamilton Southeastern three-star CB <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/mason-alexander-179241/">Mason Alexander</a> and Haymarket (Va.) Battlefield three-star safety <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/cole-woodson-153383/">Cole Woodson</a> were among the DBs to also ink with Narduzzi and Co.



Other top signees in the class include: Roswell (Ga.) three-star athlete <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/synkwan-smith-238060/">Synkwan Smith</a>, Oregon (Ohio) Clay three-star quarterback <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/mason-heintschel-237555/">Mason Heintschel</a>, Olney (Md.) Good Counsel three-star linebacker <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/justin-thompson-176791/">Justin Thompson</a>, Chesterfield (Va.) Matoaca three-star WR <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/bryce-yates-154157/">Bryce Yates</a> and Pittsburgh Thomas Jefferson three-star interior offensive lineman <a href="https://www.on3.com/db/shep-turk-241520/">Shep Turk</a>.
