Tennessee flips and signs 4-star ATH Legend Bey
North Forney (Texas) four-star athlete Legend Bey has flipped his commitment from Ohio State back to Tennessee and is signing with the Volunteers. The Tennessee football X account announced Bey on Wednesday afternoon.
He flipped to the Buckeyes from the Vols less than a month ago on Nov. 10, but the SEC program never wavered and has now brought him back into the fold on National Signing Day.
Earlier on Wednesday, On3’s Pete Nakos and Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong reported that Bey was yet to send in his paperwork to Ohio State and that other programs were still swinging for his commitment. It was expected that Bey would delay his decision until Friday, but the Vols have locked in his signature.
SMU and West Virginia were trying to recruit Bey as a quarterback down the stretch, but familiarity with Tennessee helped the SEC program win out.

Bey is the No. 191 overall prospect and No. 6 athlete in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 27 player in Texas.
The do-it-all 5-foot-10 blue-chipper saw interest from Ohio State ramp up this fall and he took an official visit to Columbus at the beginning of November. He flipped not long after. Heading into NSD, though, rumors began to swirl that Tennessee wasn’t going down quietly.
Now, Bey has flipped back to Rocky Top, continuing what’s set to be a big day of commitments for Josh Heupel and the Vols. Tennessee entered the day with the No. 11 class in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. It also flipped four-star defensive lineman Carter Gooden from UCLA on Wednesday.
