Top-30 overall recruit Quinn Costello to officially visit Minnesota this week

Quinn Costello, a four-star power forward in the 2026 class, will be taking an official visit to Minnesota this week, a source told Rivals. He will be in Minneapolis this Wednesday, August 27th through Thursday, August 28th.

The 6-foot-10 rising senior of The Newman School (MA) included the Gophers in his list of top six schools earlier this month, along with Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan, North Carolina, and Texas.

Costello completed his first official visit to Purdue over the weekend. He’s also schedule to visit Michigan State in the month of September.

Costello, a native of Boston, MA, is ranked as the No. 28 overall player  in the class, according to Rivals. He’s also the No. 5 ranked power forward. 

Costello talks his game + what he’s looking for in a school

In a recent interview with Rivals’ Jamie Shaw, Costello discussed what type of player he is. 

“I’d say I’m a 6’10”, long, versatile, wing forward,” Costello told On3. “I play a lot of the floor, I guard more fours and fives than threes, but I’d say I’m pretty flexible. I can really shoot it, that’s like my number one strength. I’ve been known as a knockdown shooter for most of my life, but I’ve started to do a lot more, like putting on the floor, driving closeouts, offensive rebounding, running the floor, all that stuff.”

He knows what he wants in a future college program. 

“The relationship piece is going to be big for me,” Costello said. “I’m most successful when coaches really trust me, and I really trust coaches, and we have a super strong, unbreakable relationship. I say it a lot, and I hate to say it, but if basketball doesn’t work out, I’m still at a school where I’m set up for success.”
