2026 4-star CB Jamarrion Gordon decommits from UCF

Jackson (Ala.) four-star cornerback Jamarrion Gordon, Class of 2026, has decommitted from UCF.

The 6-foot junior was pledged to the Knights since July 26, but is now the latest to back off his commitment following Saturday’s news of head coach Gus Malzahn leaving Orlando to become the new offensive coordinator at Florida State. He flipped to UCF from Alabama this summer.

Gordon is the No. 323 overall prospect and No. 22 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Alabama.

Gordon was one of just two pledges in UCF’s 2026 class entering Nov. 30. He visited Florida earlier this month and told Gators Online that he was attracted to playing in Gainesville.

“What makes Florida so attractive to me is that I know they’re going to have a QB (DJ Lagway) when I get there and the head coach (Billy Napier) can make them a playoff contender team,” Gordon said.

“They like me at wide receiver but really love me at DB,” he added. “If I go there, I’m going to play DB.”

Gordon also visited Florida State last weekend. He owns a slew of offers, including from the likes of Auburn, Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State, LSU and Georgia.

UCF loses Malzahn, recruiting dominoes following

Gordon is already the second prospect to decommit from the Knights following the news of Malzahn’s departure, following Warner Robins (Ga.) Northside four-star offensive tackle Chastan Brown. Brown was pledged to the Knights since July 11 and is the nation’s No. 399 recruit and No. 25 OT.

Entering Saturday, UCF held commitments from 12 prospects, compiling a 2025 class that ranked No. 51 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Brown was one of four blue-chippers in the class entering the weekend.

The Knights’ 2026 class now features one commitment via Gordon’s Jackson teammate, three-star wide receiver Keeyun Chapman.
