USC 4-star commit Trent Mosley on recruiting: I'm completely done

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Trent Mosley laughed at the question.
Both of his parents played sports at Notre Dame but his older brother, Emmett, chose Stanford before transferring to Texas and now faced with his own decision, the four-star receiver chose USC in March.
Do his parents ever rip him for not going to South Bend?
“We still have one more (Grant Mosley) so who knows,” Mosley said at the recent Battle at the Beach tournament. “I felt like SC was the better fit.
“They don’t really. My dad a little bit maybe but not really though.”
The four-star receiver from Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic standout got a massive jumpstart on his own recruitment because he visited schools with his brother and had the opportunity to talk with so many coaches.
That’s why Mosley committed early in March to USC and is completely finished with his recruitment because he’s been doing this for a few years already.
“I’m completely done,” Mosley said.
“I felt like my brother’s process was helpful for me to go to all the schools he went to and talk with all the coaches he met.
“I feel like my process came down to two of the schools were different than his top three so I thought it was really important I chose my own way and what fit me best. I went with it.”
Notre Dame, Oregon, Stanford, Texas, UCLA and others were involved with Mosley but he found everything he wanted at USC.

The Santa Margarita standout loved the coaching staff there from coach Lincoln Riley to receivers coaches Chad Savage and Dennis Simmons, how he’d be used in the offense and so much more.
Playing with his brother would have been neat but Mosley felt he needed to do what was best for his future – and that was up the road with the Trojans.
“It would have been really fun but I got to play with him one year in high school which was really cool and I felt like his interests and where he went didn’t exactly fit mine,” Mosley said. “For my benefit, I went with the best place for me.
“I feel like coach Savage and Simmons and coach Riley, I love, and the offense over there just looking at it and going through it, it felt like the right place.”
