Instinctive, sideline-to-sideline linebacker prospect with standout quickness and agility. Resek is in the midst of a standout junior season. He is productive, plays fast, and has a great nose for the ball. Listed at an unverified 6-foot-1, 208 pounds, he needs to add weight. He is not a big-framed prospect who is likely to be among the bigger players in a college linebacker room, but he has enough size that it should not be a drawback in his recruitment. He already carries solid muscle, and another 15 pounds or so should not be a problem for him. He is not…
Top Attributes
- Instincts / Football I.Q.: Has a great sense of the game. Both smart and instinctive and that allows him to get the jump on where plays are going. - Quickness: Agile and has good short-area quickness. Can change directions and gets to plays that aren't right in the box. - Physicality: Takes on blocks with no issue and is a sound tackler.
Areas to Develop
- Speed and Strength: These are not weaknesses, they are just areas of growth needed for him to get to the highest levels. He has average, adequate size, but he's not a 6-foot-3, 235-pound physical freak, so every little bit of speed and strength he can add will push him towards being able to earn a scholarship at the higher-level programs.
Film Review Notes
Quickness immediately stands out. Play speed is very good. Gets to the ball quickly, shoots gaps and also has some twitch. Changes directions well. Can come forward and fill gaps but also can be in space and run things down. Physical and will take on blocks and meet ball carriers in the hole with good pad level and explosiveness.
