Sauce Gardner injury update: Colts CB helped off field, taken to locker room with apparent leg issue

Ahmad Gardner is his name, but people call him “Sauce.” He picked up the nickname when he was 6 years old from a youth sports coach because of Gardner’s athletic abilities. The name has stuck, and Gardner even has a huge chain with “Sauce” on it. Gardner was a consensus three-star recruit out of Detroit Martin Luther King, where he earned All-State honors. Gardner had a remarkable freshman season, earning a spot on the All-AAC first team and earning Newcomer of the Year from the entire Cincinnati athletic department. Gardner continued his successful play as a sophomore, earning first and second team All-American honors from multiple organizations. Gardner is the son of Alisa Gardner. He is the younger brother of Allante Gardner. Allante Gardner played wide receiver at DII Saginaw Valley State and DIII Lakeland.
