Tate is the youngest of three boys in the Erb family. His older brothers, Tanner and Tom, both played rugby and football at St. Thomas, and Tate grew up chasing their example on the same fields before earning his own spot in the trenches. A two-sport athlete, Tate splits his year between football and baseball, where he plays first base for the St. Thomas varsity team and for Marucci Elite Texas. The footwork, hand quickness, and competitiveness he's built on the diamond carry over directly to his technique on the offensive line. In the classroom, Tate is on the Principal's List with a 4.67 GPA. On the field, he was named St. Thomas Lineman of the Year for 2025 and earned TAPPS All-State recognition. A hardworking, coachable lineman from a family of athletes, Tate brings the size, drive, and academic profile college coaches look for both on and off the field.
