Amari Niblack could factor in at both wide receiver and tight end.

In this series, we’re looking at 10 players who could have a major impact on the success or failure of the 2025 Texas A&M football team. Some are starters, some aren’t — but they’re certainly not getting the attention they deserve. The final entry is Amari Niblack, who will play a hybrid role between tight end and receiver this year.

Class: Redshirt senior

Height/Weight: 6-foot-3, 235 pounds

2024 stats: 5 catches, 33 yards in nine games at Texas

Why he’s important: The tallest player in Texas A&M’s receiver rotation is only 6 foot. While they have speed to burn, they don’t have size. At tight end, the Aggies have stocked up on blockers, with only Theo Ohrstrom having caught more than six passes in a season (10, last year). So they need someone who can be a receiving threat at that position.

Niblack can be both.

He’s proven he can be a quality pass catcher, as he pulled in 20 passes for 327 yards — an average of 16.4 yards per catch — and 4 touchdowns during his 2023 season at Alabama. Niblack transferred to Texas last year, but the presence of Gunnar Helm limited his playing time. When he hit the transfer portal again, the Aggies saw the potential to make him a versatile weapon. They slimmed him down 10 pounds from his playing weight at Texas and had him work with both the tight ends and receivers. Now, A&M has a player who could be an asset as a normal receiver — especially in the red zone — and as a tight end or H-back. Niblack’s versatility should ensure he sees plenty of work this season.
