Wisconsin has its first commitment in the class of 2027. On Wednesday, Verona (Wis.) offensive tackle Ethan McIntosh announced his decision to stay home and play for the Badgers.

McIntosh, the son of UW athletic director Chris McIntosh, chose Wisconsin over other scholarship offers from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Iowa State, Northwestern, and others. The three-star lineman was recently on campus for Saturday’s upset win over No. 24 Washington. He has made multiple trips to Madison this season.

“I thought it was really cool. I’ve been going to Badger games since I was little,” McIntosh told Badger Blitz in the fall. “It was really cool to be on that side of it this time. Like, ‘Wow, this could be me.’ It was great to see the staff again. All in all, it was a really cool experience.”

Offensive line coach A.J. Blazek was the lead recruiter for the in-state star. McIntosh also had high marks for the direction of the offense under Jeff Grimes.

A unanimous first-team All-Conference and All-Region selection as a junior, McIntosh is the nation’s No. 40 ranked offensive tackle in the class of 2027, according to Rivals.
