BREAKING: Wisconsin Flips Houston Safety Commit Kah'ni Watts
Wisconsin has pulled off a surprise during the early signing period. Although he was thought to be signing with Houston, Rosharon (Texas.) Iowa Colony safety Kah’ni Watts has flipped to the Badgers.
“It just felt like home for me,” Watts told Badger Blitz. “It felt like somewhere I could call home for the next four years.”
Watts originally committed to the Cougars in June over Utah, New Mexico, and more. Sources told Badger Blitz that Wisconsin had started making a serious run over the last week-plus. The three-star safety did not take an official visit to UW. Watts told Badger Blitz he came to a decision Wednesday night.
As a senior, Watts recorded 73.0 tackles, 6.0 for loss, four interceptions, six pass breakups, and one sack.
Wisconsin now has its first safety signed in the 2026 recruiting class. The Badgers are up to 13 commitments in total.
According to the Rivals Industry, Watts is the nation’s No. 133 ranked safety in the class of 2026.
Stay tuned to Badger Blitz for more on Watts’ commitment.
