MADISON, Wis. — Remington Moss was the first player to commit to Wisconsin and head coach Luke Fickell in the class of 2025. He’s now the first to leave it as well. On Thursday, Moss announced his intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

“First off, I want to thank God for every opportunity I have had so far. Next, would like to thank Coach Fickell and Coach Cooper (Jack Cooper) for giving me the opportunity to play at this level,” Moss wrote on X. “With that being said, I am entering the transfer portal with four years of eligibility left.”

Moss did not appear in any games for Wisconsin this past season. He is the nephew of former Badger running back Brent Moss.

Despite committing early in August of 2024, Moss had a monster offer list from the likes of USC, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Penn State, and more. A Rivals Industry four-star recruit, Moss was the nation’s No. 36 ranked safety in the class of 2025, according to On3.

Wisconsin loses a pair of starting safeties in Austin Brown and Preston Zachman. The Badgers are currently set to return junior Matt Jung and sophomore Matthew Traynor. UW is also high on true freshmen Grant Dean and Luke Emmerich.
