MADISON, Wis. — Illinois (7-3, 4-3) opened as a 9.5-point favorite over Wisconsin (3-7, 1-6) heading into Saturday’s Big Ten Conference matchup at Camp Randall Stadium, according to Bet MGM.

The Badgers lead the all-time series 49-35-7. UW has won 12 of the last 14 meetings, going back to 2008. The two schools last met in 2023, a thrilling, last-second 25-21 victory for the Badgers in Champaign. Down 21-10 in the fourth quarter, UW rallied and capped off the comeback with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Braedyn Locke to offensive tackle Nolan Rucci with 27 seconds remaining.

Illinois is led by former Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema. While with the Badgers, Bielema won three Big Ten Conference titles and posted an overall record of 68-24. Bielema has faced UW three times as UI’s head coach, going 1-2 against his former school.

Wisconsin will be coming off a 31-7 loss at No. 2 Indiana. Barring a surprise, the Badgers will be ineligible for the postseason in back-to-back years for the first time since 1992.

Winners of two straight, Illinois handled Maryland 24-6 on Saturday. The Illini are 6-1 against unranked teams this season, with the lone defeat coming at the hands of Washington on the road.

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT. Big Ten Network will have the call live from Madison.
