MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Badgers basketball program has announced the dismissal of senior forward Elijah Gray on Tuesday afternoon. Gray, a transfer from Temple, had yet to suit up for a game through the preseason.

The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds for the Owls last season. Prior to Temple, he spent two seasons at Fordham, averaging 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in his sophomore season.

Gray did not participate in Wisconsin’s Red-White Scrimmage and sat for the Badgers’ exhibition against Oklahoma on Friday, October 24. The Charlotte native was set to be a major part of the rotation after transferring to Madison in the offseason.

“Elijah Gray has been dismissed from the University of Wisconsin-Madison men’s basketball team related to events preceding his enrollment at UW-Madison,” the team announced.

“Gray arrived in Madison as a fourth-year senior transfer this summer and had yet to play a game for Wisconsin.

“Privacy laws limit the university’s ability to share more at this time.”
