SAN DIEGO — Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard and junior guard John Blackwell addressed the media following Friday’s 74-63 loss to TCU in the Rady Children’s Invitational championship game.

The Horned Frogs led by as many as 19 and out-toughed the Badgers most of the way. UW shot just 34.5 percent from the field, including 25.0 percent from 3-point range. The Badgers also managed a season-low 24 points in the paint, while committing a season-high 17 turnovers.

A 9-0 run brought Wisconsin back within 41-37 at the half. However, TCU opened the final period on a 10-2 run to push the Badgers back out of striking distance. UW would get as close as 70-63 with just over two minutes remaining, but the Horned Frogs would score the game’s final four points.

Wisconsin resumes action on Dec. 3 against Northwestern in the Big Ten Conference opener.
