Videos: Wisconsin Reacts to 104-83 Win Over Providence
SAN DIEGO — Wisconsin (5-1) used a huge surge at the end of the first half to race past Providence (3-3) 104-83 at the Rady Children’s Invitational.
The Badgers scored their most points against a power-conference team in a non-conference game since putting up 104 points against Georgia Tech in 1963. Finishing the first half on a 20-6 run, UW led by as many as 28 on Thursday.
Senior guard Nick Boyd finished with a career-high 36 points (15-25), along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Sophomore forward Austin Rapp also had his best day in a UW uniform, posting 20 points (7-15), eight rebounds, and three blocks.

Junior forward Nolan Winter was in double-figures as well, notching his fourth double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds. While he was only 2-of-10 shooting, junior guard John Blackwell notched 11 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
Wisconsin improved to 2-5 all-time against Providence. The Badgers will go for their fourth holiday tournament title in five seasons against TCU on Friday. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. CT from Jenny Craig Pavilion on the campus of UC-San Diego.
