Wisconsin Injury Report: Jake Renfro A Game-Time Decision For Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Wisconsin (2-0) is already without starting quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. for Saturday’s non-conference test at No. 19 Alabama (1-1). The Badgers may have to no go without senior center Jake Renfro as well. According to the UW injury report, Renfro will be a game-time decision.
Renfro missed last Saturday’s 42-10 win over Middle Tennessee. In his place, Wisconsin started senior Kerry Kodanko at center. Kodanko posted a 42.4 overall grade per Pro Football Focus.
“We have full confidence in Kerry,” senior offensive tackle Riley Mahlman said. “I don’t think last week’s game reflects him as a player. It was his first start. Gotta give the guy a little slack. He’s hit it hard the last couple days. I think he’s going to be prepared come Saturday.”
Renfro, who missed all but one game during the 2023 campaign, started and appeared in all 12 games for Wisconsin last season. He helped anchor a Badger offensive line that allowed just 13.0 sacks, the third-fewest in the Big Ten Conference.
Also out for Saturday’s contest:
– Junior tight end Tucker Ashcraft
– Sophomore offensive tackle Kevin Heywood
– Senior edge rusher Corey Walker
Wisconsin and Alabama will kickoff at 11 a.m. ABC will have the call live from Bryant Denny Stadium.
