GAME DAY: Miami (OH) at Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin kicks off the 2025 season with a non-conference matchup, under the lights, against Miami (OH) on Thursday. The Badgers are entering year three of the Luke Fickell era. UW is coming off a 5-7 season, marking the first time since 2001 in which the program has missed a bowl game. In two seasons under Fickell, the Badgers have posted just a 13-13 mark.
Thursday marks the second all-time meeting between Miami (OH) and Wisconsin. The Badgers dominated the lone matchup, 58-0 in 2015, the home debut for former head coach Paul Chryst. UW enters Thursday riding a 27-game winning streak in home non-conference openers, a run that dates back to 1995. The Badgers are also 35-2 all-time against foes from the Mid-American Conference.
Can Wisconsin end its five-game losing streak dating back to last season? Or will the Redhawks surprise as 17.5-point underdogs? Come hang out at Badger Blitz with the UW faithful to discuss Thursday’s action.
