Matt Newman commits to Diamond Dogs
Matt Newman made his college decision public on Monday evening, announcing his commitment to Louisiana Tech.
Newman, a redshirt freshman right-handed pitcher from Southwest Mississippi Community College, will join Louisiana Tech with three years of eligibility remaining.
Discussing his decision to become a Bulldog, the Brookhaven, Mississippi native told BleedTechBlue.com, “I loved the environment and the coaches. They all seem like real down-to-earth people. Tech has all the resources you could need, and I feel they’ll be very helpful for player development.”
After undergoing Tommy John surgery 14 months ago, Newman has made an impressive return and turned heads with his performance this fall.
